Dear clients and investors,
CMB International Capital Corporation Limited and its subsidiaries (“CMBI” or “the group”) has recently become aware that scammers impersonated CMBI staff to adding members of the public to fraudulent investment groups in social media such as WhatsApp. CMBI hereby cautions the public against impersonation scams perpetrated by fraudsters in the name of the CMBI.
These fraudsters often use trademarks that closely resemble the CMBI’s but are fraudulent. In some of the reported cases, fraudsters impersonated certain CMBI former senior executives and staff to add members of the public to fraudulent investment groups [CMBI Investment Club] on WhatsApp. They tricked victims into transferring to unknown accounts [CMBI Empire] by posing/proving market updates and/or investment tips or displaying screenshots of forged profit-making transaction records [CMBI Pro].
CMBI emphasizes that all such messages and claims are fraudulent and urges the public to exercise utmost caution when dealing with unsolicited communications:

2. Do not reply to unsolicited emails or click on suspicious links or attachments.
3. Do not send money or disclose account details if asked by anyone claiming to be CMBI staff or have insider trading news requesting stock purchases, investment schemes, or tax payments.
4. Please report any suspected impersonation, fake documents, or suspicious communications immediately to CMBI or the local Police.
